Google Android: Future Windows Competitor?
By Taryn Cooper, at 8:48 am on June 2nd, 2009Bloomberg reported earlier today that Google Android, their free phone operating system, will be running computers next quarter, offering a direct competitor to Microsoft’s Windows operating system.
With Acer scheduled to offer Android-powered notebooks next quarter, the story suggests that Android could be powerful enough to replace traditional-Windows based systems in the future, at the very least for low-cost notebooks.
